Idwala - Zulu for 'Rock' or 'Stone'

I spent the last few days in Johannesburg photographing Idwala Guest House in the quiet suburb of Darrenwood. Idwala means Rock or Stone in Zulu and this can be seen in the architecture and interior design of the venue.

This 5-star Guest House is situated in a quiet road and is truly an amazing getaway for people wishing to stay a night or for business purposes. With the weather being rainy and overcast on the first few days, light proved to be quiet challenging but I feel the final images show the beauty and character of this gem in the city.

From the entrance, the main building is focused around the dining area which is built around the lounge area which is furnished with beautiful dark couches and the fireplace adds a great ambiance!

The outside area has plenty of outside seating available with a small pool which features a waterfall that draws a lot of birds into the garden.

There are many different rooms with everything you might need to make your stay more comfortable. This of course includes a big screen television!

All the finishing touches have been taken care of to make this a definite 5-star experience!

If you ever need a place to stay in the Randburg / Sandton area of South Africa I can most definitely recommend Idwala Guest House. For more information you can visit their website (which will be updated with new images shortly) - www.idwala.com

As always I look forward to hearing from you!

Gerry
